Hi, my name is Shasta McLaughlin and I have always been an artist and crafter. Drawing on the walls, crocheting and knitting, attending art classes, as well as shows with my mom and eventually putting on my own craft shows.

A friend asked me to put on a Craft Show to earn some extra money.

We put on the Christmas Extravaganza in 2005. I didn't know where to find vendors for that first show. We made posters, took out ads, and talked to everyone.

We listed our show with every Chamber of Commerce and free site that would allow us. Most would only include our ad the month of the event. We weren't going to find many vendors that way.

Most places allow advertising only for non-profits and don't include enough information for exhibitors.

Hundreds of hours later when all was said and done...

We had 26 vendors for our craft show in Belgrade, Montana.


That was when...

A vendor at our show told me about a newsletter -- for artists, crafters, antique dealers, trade show and farmers' market vendors.

Exhibitors who are available on the dates of my show, who are willing to pay my price and are actually interested in my show can contact me.

...I really enjoy your listings and such. But one thing I'm going to make a point to do and that is to pass your name around at all the shows I do so they advertise in your newsletter.

...That way they can see what they are missing...

It would be very handy to all of us venders to have an inkling early on of when the shows will be for our scheduling. I hate to sign up for one just to find out there is a better one the same date later on. Maybe the shows would send in early so we can plan ahead better...

Thanks for the work you do and the suggestions and hints you publish. I have been keeping all of the copies in case I want to go back for something I read before.
